Andrew Bala is a family, estates and civil litigation lawyer in Kingston, Ontario.
Andrew is collaborative whenever possible, and tough when necessary. Andrew's strategic counsel has achieved successful results for clients at all levels of court in Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Andrew was born and raised in Kingston, attended KCVI where he was valedictorian, graduated with President’s List Honours from the University of King’s College, and earned his Juris Doctor from the Queen’s University Faculty of Law. During law school Andrew volunteered with the Queen's Legal Aid Clinics, Pro Bono Students Canada, taught undergraduates in Queen's University's 'Introduction to Law' program, and mooted including representing the Queen's University Faculty of Law in the national Walsh Family Law Moot. Andrew articled and worked as an associate in family and estates litigation boutiques in downtown Toronto before returning to Kingston to practice law in 2019. Andrew's professional experience before law is in the childcare and youth leadership industries, including he worked for the Kingston KEYS' Job Centre Summer Jobs for Youth Program, RKY Camp where he rose to become the Leadership Director, and in daycare. Andrew loves reading and learning about a wide range of subjects, including by reading and podcasts; he's enjoyed listening to every U.S. Supreme Court oral argument since the Court began publishing them online in 2010. Andrew is a former yoga teacher. Andrew co-chairs the Frontenac Law Association's Continuing Legal Education Committee. Andrew also holds a Certificate in Family Law Practice from the York University Osgoode Hall Law School. Andrew is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canada Bar Association, and the Frontenac Law Association and Canada Bar Association sections for Wills, Estates and Family Law.
